Details: Shot dead by the IRA outside his home as he was leaving dustbins at his front gate. The two gunmen had hijacked a car and forced the owner to drive them towards Coalisland and from there they escaped on foot across fields. An off duty UDR soldier who arrived at the scene fired at the killers as they escaped across fields. 160th UDR member to be killed and 16th officer. |
