Details: Shot by the IRA as he drove to his work in Plumbridge. Gunmen opened fire on his car and it crashed into a telegraph pole. A passenger in the car was wounded in the chest by a bullet. He was awarded Mention in Despatches. 78th UDR member to be killed and 9th officer. |
