Details:   One of eight people killed when two UDA/UFF gunmen opened fire in the Rising Sun Lounge and Restaurant in Greysteel, an act of retaliation for the IRA's Shankill Road bombing a week earlier. Around 200 people were in the bar when gunmen came in and opened fire indiscriminately. John's wife was badly wounded. Left the Regiment in 1978 - 58th ex UDR soldier to be killed. |
