Details:   Shot by IRA gunmen as he arrived home from work. He was the fourth serving or ex serving UDR soldier to be killed in that area within a year. The IRA stated that 'it was up to anyone who left the Regiment to tell them, so that they could be removed from their target list'. His two brothers in law, John Bell and Robert Frazier, both UDR soldiers, were shot dead by the IRA in 1975. Left the Regiment in 1978 - 20th ex UDR soldier to be killed. |
