Details:   Shot by IRA gunmen as he returned home from work in his car. His brother in law had been shot in a similar ambush 10 weeks earlier. Another brother in law was also killed by the IRA in 1980. The IRA stated that he had been killed because he was part of the British war machine. 50th UDR soldier to be killed. |
