Details:   Fatally injured by an IRA booby trap bomb under his car on 27 Oct 77. Minutes later his two children and a neighbour's child would have joined him in the car for the journey to school. Twelve soldiers from The Royal Tank Regiment donated blood immediately to help the injured soldier. Fifty other soldiers donated blood later, many of them staying in the hospital lest further donations were needed. 81st UDR member and 10th officer to be killed. |
