Details: Shot dead by IRA gunmen as he arrived home from work. He was hit several times and died at the scene. The gunmen dressed in cycling gear escaped on bicycles through the nearby park. Johnny had served for twenty years and had been under high and specific threat for many of those. Retired from the Regiment in 1991 - 57th ex UDR member to be killed. |
